Have You Thanked Your Competitors Today?
Competition in the business world is often viewed as a negative thing, but it doesn't have to be. Competition can benefit you, your competitor, and especially your customer!Let's look at some of the ways in which competitors can help you:1) They prevent you from becoming lazy
A lot has been written about Google Adsense. There has been countless websites and marketers claiming that you can make a lot of money with it. My personal experience has been that I made about $1.50 in six months using it on four websites. Out of 1,000 page views, I had about 6 click throughs and about $1.54 in profits.

What exactly is Google Adsense? Well, it's where Google gets to put ads on your website and when someone clicks on it, you get paid 5 to 10 cents per click. That's where the theory comes in, and you might say that if you get a 1,000 click throughs a month, you get paid $100. In theory, anyways.

So how do you sign up for it? Well, you apply for it on the Google Adsense site and when your site is approved, your account is approved and you are allowed to put codes on your site.

So how does it work? When you put the code on your web pages, the Google bot spiders your pages and finds key words to match with ads in their data base. Then they show up on your site in different forms. You can put them on multiple sites. When your account reaches $100, you get paid. Note that the ads are competing with your website. You lose a visitor, and you get compensated, in another words.

There are some rules to follow in the TOS ( terms of service agreement.) One of the rules is that you cannot click on your own ads, because that would be click fraud and your account would be suspended. There are other rules like you can only put three boxes of ads per page, and you can't have ads on the same page as videos. You also can not have words like "click here" on your web pages to get visitors to click on the ads.

Although there have been reports of people making $10,000 on Adsense a month, etc; that probably isn't likely for most of us unless you push through about 40,000 hits to ten different sites and have it convert at 35% or more.
