Computer Desks - Think Before You Buy
Many people buy a computer, only to find that it doesn’t really fit anywhere. They can be big, awkwardly-shaped things, with a whole collection of wires and gadgets that all need somewhere to stand. The solution is to get a computer desk. They don’t cost much, and they’re specially designed to hold all the peripherals a computer needs. There’s space for the monitor, speakers and mouse on the top, a shelf for the keyboard, and then compartments at the bottom for the system box itself and even for a printer or scanner. A good computer desk will also have holes and routes for all the various cables that are needed to tie it all together and make it work. All you need is a comfortable office chair, and you’re set. With the rise of wireless networking, it is even possible to have computer desks in places you woul

Several years ago, I discovered that there are unlimited paths on which one can travel through this journey we call life. Up to that point, I had done nothing but dream of the day I would play professional soccer. My senior year on the college soccer team was cut short with a bad ankle injury, so I focused on finishing up my degree and graduating.

There I was, just having graduated college where I was receiving my computer science degree and was ready to do what you’re supposed to do, go get a 9-5 job for the next 44 years and retire at age 65. I went to work at a respectable aeronautics company as a Software Engineer. My head was always great with computers, but my heart would never listen to my head. I found a "MLM"/network marketing company shortly after beginning my soon-to-be short lived software engineering career. After paying a LOT of money ($5,000) for a LOT of product, became a "director" at this company. To make a long story short, 6 months later I had $4,900 in products sitting in my parent’s garage, and the network marketing company was involved in a lawsuit and had been completely shut down. I was supposed to get reimbursed some portion of the $5,000 I had invested (after lawyer’s fees and such were taken out), but that was about 7 years ago and I haven’t seen a dime since then.

Fast forward about 4 more years down the road. I was on my 3rd software engineering position and had almost tripl

    Class Action Suit
A class action suit is a lawsuit against a company by multiple plaintiffs who were similarly injured by the defendant. Class actions are especially good for people who individually have only sustained less than a few thousand dollars of damage. The cost of an individual suit would negate the possible recovery if they were even to win, but in a class action suit, the cost of filing and paying lawyer fees is split between all the plaintiffs. Also, they gain strength in numbers and have a more air-tight case to bring to court. Thus class action suits are often a better assurance that a satisfactory settlement will be reached. However the benefits of class action suits are in heavy debate. One topic people focus on is a coupon settlement in which plaintiffs are given coupons to be used within a certain time and with t

Press Release Writing Tips for PR People
A press release is often your only chance to make a great first impression.Newspapers, magazines and trade publications receive them by the truckload. That means sloppy, long, inaccurate, pointless releases are the first to hit the newsroom wastebasket or a journalist's "deleted" folder. To make sure yours isn't one of them, avoid these major mistakes:--Failing to write a headline that explains what the story is about. Don't try to be too cute or tease readers. Remember that journalists spend an average of five seconds reading a release before deciding whether to use it or toss it.--Failing to write a sub-head. A sub-head communicates to journalists a little more of what the story is about and helps get your message across quicker.--Writing press releases that are too long. Each release

This paper will discuss the background, the problem, the end goals, alternative solutions, risk assessment, the optimal solution, and lastly the implementation plan.Situation Background (Step 1) The entire telecommunications industry has fallen into hard times due to the Cable Companies entering the competition but Global Communications has been hit hard with not just the increased competition but smaller profit margins, the costs of doing business, and have realized that they need a new strateg

    How to Feed Your Mind
If you read most of your daily news over feed readers or RSS aggregators, then skip this article and go do something else. The reason why I am writing about RSS feeds, is because of how great I personally think this way of keeping your self on top of thing is. If you think that reading newspapers is the best way to get news, think again, you have to keep in mind that newspapers provide readers with news that are a day or at best a couple of hours late, so it's stale news by the time you read it.In the US, some magazine publications have shrank there copy sizes dramatically, removing the news sections, simply because their readers know about the news before the publication hits the news stands. Now most publications provide their own take and opinions on those news articles instead of running the headlines,

Fast forward about 4 more years down the road. I was on my 3rd software engineering position and had almost tripled my income from when I first graduated college! This was GREAT, but even then I realized that the reason I was forced to find my 3rd job was because the company at my 2nd job went through a company-wide slashing and laid-off about 2/3 of the entire company. I did NOT like the idea that one day my family would be at the mercy of bosses and VP’s at companies who are only looking out for themselves. I had to do something about this…

I saved up money for several months of expenses, and started exploring many businesses that I could start on my own. I had a short stint with my best friend and one other person. There was a rather successful company they had both worked at before…and said it was going to be easy to recreate everything that their former company had done. We started out, and I quickly left after making 200-300 cold calls per day. (3 ? years later this company is doing monthly sales of $250,000-$300,000 and all of the owners are making 6 figures…OOPS!) I still talk with my best friend daily and we are always plotting our next big money maker…but I’ll talk more about that in a bit…

I finally chose to start a franch
